Child and Adolescent Program Services

Child and Adolescent Program Services provides comprehensive care to children and their families.  This means coordinating with parents, foster parents, schools, CPS, primary care physicians and others who might be involved in the child's life.  All services are offered by, or under the supervision of, a Child Mental Health Specialist.

Below is a sample of services that may be provided:

Individual Counseling - A clinician works with children to assess and meet a variety of needs.  All individual counseling seeks to include the child’s parents and/or guardians.  Children 13 years of age and older may seek counseling on their own and are entitled to complete confidentiality under Washington State law.

Individualized and Tailored Care - ITC provides a team of professionals and lay people, identified by the family, who come together to support the child and family.  ITC identifies the strengths and needs and specific ways are designed to enhance strengths and meet needs.  Participants may include the family doctor, the child’s teacher, the family pastor, aunts, uncles, neighbors, social workers, etc.  The goal is to provide quality community support to the child and family in their time of need.

Family Focus Program - The Family Focus Program brings families together to learn and grow.  Each group begins with families sharing a meal with their clinician.  Following the meal the families split into groups.  Parents meet together to learn parenting and communication skills.  Children are split into age appropriate groups where they learn communication, social, anger management, and coping skills.  The groups meet weekly for 10 weeks.
