Adult Outpatient Services

Adult Outpatient Services provides brief and long-term, solution-focused counseling services to individuals who are experiencing emotional problems.  The focus of treatment is to assist the individual in assessing needs and strengths, and to develop natural supports and strategies through which needs can be met.  All services are provided by, or under the supervision of, mental health professionals.

Below is a sample of services that may be provided:

Individual and/or Group Counseling - The client and clinician develop a plan to address the client's concerns and outline a program to address behaviors that are creating difficulties for the client. The plan serves to increase behaviors that support and meet the client needs.  Behavioral goals are set and discussed at each session to monitor the client's progress.

Family Support & Education - Clinicians work with family and friends whom the client identifies to educate them as to the symptoms of the client's diagnosis, and also teaches ways in which family and friends can assist the client.  May be provided in family or group meetings.

Medication Management - Clinicians and medical staff work together to provide clients with safe access to medications.  This may mean: assisting the client with setting up a med box; distributing medication on a scheduled basis; advocating for the client with pharmaceutical companies who supply medication free of charge to the client; regular visits with the nurse or doctor; etc.
